Our Ecological Approach
Minimizing the Footprint, Maximizing Efficiency
SG Holding's environmental investments are focused on protecting air quality, water, and land resources, and on the efficient use of energy.
One of the priority tasks in ecology is implementing innovative energy-saving projects. Converting municipal boiler plants from natural gas to biomass is our flagship direction, simultaneously addressing energy efficiency, CO₂ emission reduction, and local economic development.
Organic fruit production at Pro Organic Fruct, using agricultural sector waste in biofuel production, and reducing resource consumption in SG Business Center's office buildings — every business area of the holding contributes to the group's overall environmental performance.
01
Air Protection
Replacing fossil fuels with biomass reduces CO₂, NOₓ, and SO₂ emissions. Biomass is a carbon-neutral fuel: the carbon released during combustion was absorbed by plants as they grew.
02
Water Protection
Compliance with water usage standards at all production facilities. Discharge monitoring and implementation of closed-loop water systems at Pro Organic Fruct and SG Green Farm enterprises.
03
Land Protection
A careful approach to farmland: agrochemicals under Organic Protect's oversight, organic cultivation methods at Pro Organic Fruct, and biomass collection without depleting the soil.
04
Energy Efficiency
Reducing specific energy consumption at every enterprise in the group. Upgrading boiler equipment, automating processes, and switching to renewable heat sources.
Flagship Project
Bioenergy — Our Main Contribution
SG Green Farm
Bioenergy · Biofuel
SG Green Farm is a leader in Moldova's national market for building biomass boiler plants. Of the 178 boiler plants built across Moldova, 59 were constructed by the company — a third of the country's entire bioenergy infrastructure.
At the same time, the company produces 4,000 tons of solid biofuel per year — pellets and briquettes from local agricultural and forestry waste. Fully local raw materials, zero dependence on imports, and a closed production cycle.

How It Works
A Closed Cycle
SG Green Farm's biofuel production is built on a closed-cycle principle — one sector's waste becomes a resource for another, minimizing the environmental footprint.

Commitments
Our Environmental Commitments
SG Holding makes concrete commitments to environmental protection — not in the form of declarations, but through implemented projects and measurable results.
Replacing Fossil Fuels
Every biomass boiler plant built by SG Green Farm means a complete phase-out of natural gas or fuel oil at that facility. Biomass is a carbon-neutral fuel: CO₂ emitted during combustion is offset by absorption during plant growth.
Reducing Production Energy Intensity
Ongoing modernization of production processes to reduce specific energy consumption per unit of output — at both bioenergy facilities and agro-industrial enterprises of the group.
Compliance with Environmental Standards
All the holding's enterprises operate in strict accordance with Moldova's environmental legislation. Regular environmental audits, emissions monitoring, and discharge control are mandatory parts of operational activity.
Environmental Education
The holding's media platforms — MBC and Datina FM — are also used to inform the audience about the importance of environmental responsibility, energy conservation, and sustainable development.
